Bulletproof coffee is the new greatest way to drink your coffee, in our opinion! :) The man behind the concoction, Dave Asprey claims that it suppresses hunger, promotes weight loss, and improves energy and performance. He credits Bulletproof coffee for helping him drop 100-plus pounds, plus helping him get more sleep and boosting his brainpower.
A cup of Bulletproof coffee typically has three ingredients:
1. 1 cup of black coffee (we suggest buying a high-quality coffee to decrease the chance of mycotoxins in your coffee - more on that soon!)
2. 1-2 tablespoons of MCT (medium chain triglyceride) oil which is an easily digestible fat. You can purchase pure MCT oil, or you can use coconut oil like we do, which has wonderful health benefits that can include increased energy, fat burning and brain power, as mentioned above!
3. 1-2 tablespoons of unsalted grass-fed butter or ghee (as the creamer) OR we use about 1/3 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk. (The butter and the oil was just a bit too heavy on my stomach, so that's why we replaced the butter with our favorite almond milk.)
